Projects & Events
Like any other Rotary Club around the world, the Paraparaumu Club undertakes regular fundraising events. These include:
Annual Art Show & Competition
![]() |
This relatively new event started in 2003 and is held over Labour Weekend in late October each year. Artists from throughout New Zealand submit paintings in a number of subject categories and sponsored prizes are presented in each class. All works are for sale and the event is becoming an important item on the local arts and social calendar. Funds raised from sponsors, entry fees and commissions on sales are used to further the development of the Arts on the Kapiti Coast.

Annual Golf Tournament

Held every summer at the internationally ranked
Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club. Entrants get to play the course often used for
the New Zealand Open and to follow the fairways and greens (and rough!) played
by Tiger Woods, Michael Campbell, etc. The proceeds from this event go to local
beneficiaries such as surf lifesaving, ambulance etc.
Annual Big Dig at Raumati Beach

Patrons purchase tickets to search for numbered
tags buried in the sand, to win donated prizes ranging from bicycles to grocery
vouchers.
This event is organised annually at Raumati Beach by the Kapiti Observer newspaper and Paraparaumu Rotary, and is usually held in February or March. Dates vary from year to year, depending on tides and weather.
Proceeds from the event are distributed to local beneficiaries.
